Vientiane is not a very large city, however, it is divided into several areas. Some of them better than others. In general, Laos is a very safe country and that includes its capital. The city offers a variety of culture, nature and history with several interesting places to visit. To get to know Vientiane, I recommend spending two days. Near Chao Anouvong Park, one of the best areas to stay in Vientiane


This is one of the best areas of the city, on the banks of the Mekong River is Chao Anouvong Park. Near this beautiful park you can visit Wat Sisaket, That Dam Stupa, Wat Inpeng and Wat Ong Teu.


It is an area with a lot of atmosphere and with several accommodations. Generally, Vientiane is not an expensive city. Specifically in this area you can find a hotel for between 20 and 30 euros per night in a double room with breakfast in standard hotels and for just over 60 euros you have luxury options.

Riverside, a perfect alternative to stay in Vientiane


On the banks of the Mekong River, a little further from the center, you will find great accommodation options at very good prices. You will quickly reach the center by taxi or tuk tuk and all the hotels usually have incredible views of the river and the surrounding nature.
