The best areas to stay in Singapore are Singapore River (which would include Clarke Quay and Boat Quay) and Marina Bay, they are my favorites because they are located in the modern center and you have everything.
Although Chinatown, Little India and Orchard Road are not the only great options. Everything will depend on what you are looking for and the budget you have.
Singapore is a very expensive city, and if you are thinking about taking a tour of Malaysia and Singapore, you will realize that Malaysia will be the “cheap” part of the trip.
Prices in Singapore are the same as any European capital. And of course, for those of us who travel through Southeast Asia and are used to luxury hotels for little money, Singapore seems very expensive, hehe
Singapore is a very luxurious city that has a great and diversified hotel variety, highlighting the quality of its establishments and the refinement of its service. Very high-end hotels abound.
However, there are many new 2,3 and 4 star hotels that have a reasonable budget.
In this post I tell you all the areas that are a good option to stay in Singapore, and I give you some recommendations that are very well located and with good recommendations.
THE BEST AREAS TO STAY IN SINGAPORE
Singapore River
This area could be described as the city center. Next to Marina Bay.
This area is very modern and has everything. Furthermore, the advantage of being in the center is that you can access many places of interest on foot or by bicycle.
Here you have all kinds of shops, bars and restaurants. At night you only need to leave the hotel and have dinner in a wide variety of places.
In addition, from here public transport is very well connected, so you can move to any part of the city and the outskirts without having to go far to take the bus.
Marina Bay
Marina Bay is the bay formed at the mouth of the Singapore River. It is one of the most modern and spectacular areas of Singapore. Here are several essential places to see in Singapore.
The hotels in Marina Bay are high-end and if you decide to stay here you can do so in the famous Marina Bay Sands 5* known for its swimming pool and its terrace with fantastic views of the entire city.
Chinatown
It is the most interesting ethnic neighborhood in Singapore and the most centrally located. It is a very bustling neighborhood with a lot of atmosphere at all hours.
Most of the hotels in Chinatown are small hotels or boutique hotels that offer more moderate prices than other areas of Singapore. You can also find hostels.
Although if you feel like it there are also luxurious hotels.
A very cool hotel in Chinatown is the Eighteen By Three Cabins 3*, offers private double and single cabin style rooms. You have to share bathrooms. But the price is very cheap, it costs about 45 euros per night/double room.
Orchard Road
Orchard Road is the quintessential shopping area in Singapore. It is a very modern, luxurious and elegant area full of high-end stores and shopping centers. Here you can find high-end and high-budget hotels.
Little India y Arab Quarter
These two neighborhoods are the cheapest and tend to be favorites for those on a tighter budget. Although it must be taken into account that these two neighborhoods are the furthest from all the essential places to visit in Singapore. And although you can get to the center by metro in about 15 minutes, you should keep that in mind.
Here not only is accommodation cheaper, but eating in restaurants and on the street is also cheaper.
