Kuala Lumpur is quite a cheap city. Especially if we compare it with Singapore. You can find 4 or 5 star hotels for less than 50 euros per night (in a double room). In addition, you have a wide variety of accommodation and areas to choose from.
To get to know Kuala Lumpur I recommend a minimum of 3 full days. It is a fairly large city with many interesting places to visit. Also, there are nearby places like Batu Caves, which you cannot miss. If you still do not know how many days to dedicate to your trip to Malaysia, do not miss the complete guide to travel to Malaysia.
In this quick guide I explain the best areas to stay in Kuala Lumpur and some great hotel options.
WHERE TO STAY IN KUALA LUMPUR
1. Bukit Bintang, one of the best options to stay in Kuala Lumpur
The Bukit Bintang is the center of entertainment in Kuala Lumpur. It is an area full of shopping centers, markets, restaurants and entertainment venues. In addition, it is an area that is relatively close to everything. You can eat on the street and choose from many Asian food stalls, and enjoy the good nightlife.
Also, it is a very safe area of the city.
Here you will find 3-star hotels for about 20 or 25 euros per night. And if you want to go to a superior type of accommodation, you have 4 and 5 stars for about 50 euros per night (approx. prices in a double room).
I have traveled to Kuala Lumpur on about 5 occasions. And I will surely travel to the city another time, since it is a perfect stopover to get to know other Asian countries. In all the visits to the city I have been trying different hotels and different areas and one of the options with which I have been happiest and most comfortable was the hotel the Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel 4*
Some great options where to stay in Bukit Bintang:
2. Stay in Chinatown, the cheapest and most central option to stay in Kuala Lumpur
If what you are looking for is an option that is well priced, but you can choose between accommodations of all kinds, Chinatown is a good option. In addition to being one of the liveliest areas for walking, eating out, shopping...

3. Stay in Kuala Lumpur with views of the Petronas Twin Towers
Without a doubt, the Petronas Twin Towers are an icon of the city of Kuala Lumpur and appear in any photograph you find of the city.
There are many hotels with spectacular views of the Petronas Twin Towers. And many of them with incredible infinity pools. Despite what you may imagine, it is not as expensive an option as you may think. You have for all budgets.
Some hotels in Kuala Lumpur with views of the Petronas Twin Towers:
If you want to treat yourself, this would be one of the most luxurious options with good value for money that you have in the city of Kuala Lumpur. It is a spectacular 5-star hotel with a pool on its terrace that will make you want to discover the city.
Cheaper than the Mandarin hotel you have this option and with all kinds of amenities. Outdoor pool, spa... and of course, most of its rooms or common areas have views of the Petronas Twin Towers. As soon as you make your reservation, I advise you to send a message to the hotel requesting the best views, as we do not guarantee views of the Tower from the bedrooms.
Another 5-star accommodation with a very affordable price (quality-price) is The Face Suites hotel. We stayed there once and the experience was great.
The night in a double room can cost around 50-100 euros depending on the season.
From its pool at the top of the hotel you will have fantastic views of the entire city, including the Petronas Twin Towers.
If even so, the previous options do not convince you, the WP Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is a very cheap option to stay and be able to see the Petronas Twin Towers from your accommodation. It doesn't have the best score, but it has spacious and comfortable rooms (I know this from my own experience). I stayed on one occasion when I was on a stopover in Kuala Lumpur and the night is usually around 20-25 euros for a double room per night. A very cheap price if we take into account the situation and that the hotel is not bad at all.
From some of its upper rooms it is possible to see the Petronas towers, however, the most beautiful view is at the top. Where they have a pool with views of the city and the Petronas Twin Towers in front.
4. Stay in Chow Kit, in the most traditional area of Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur in the course of a few years has become a very modern city. And so we see it in its skyscrapers and luxury hotels. However, there are very authentic and traditional areas such as Chow Kit. It is an area a little further from the center, but you will get there in no time on a walk or by taxi. In addition, there are plenty of places to eat on the street, shops…
