WHERE TO STAY IN BOGOTÁ: BEST AREAS AND HOTELS

1. Parque 93 and surroundings, one of the best options to stay in Bogotá

Parque 93 is a great accommodation option in Bogotá. It is a very safe area, with bars and restaurants and quite an atmosphere.

As it is the best area to stay in the city, it is quite an expensive area. Although if we compare it with European prices, it is quite good. You can find 4-star hotels for around 75 euros and 5-star hotels for around 100 euros per night, in a double room (sometimes with breakfast included). Although if it is high season the rates can be doubled.

If you are thinking of traveling to Colombia you should take out travel insurance. It is essential. Hospitals in Colombia are not cheap for foreigners. In addition, emergency assistance if you do not have insurance is slow. Travel insurance to Colombia can cost around 3 euros a day and includes medical assistance, hospitalization, operations, transfer to your country in case of emergencies, return home in the event of the death of a family member, flight delays, etc...

2. La Candelaria, the perfect area to visit the historic center of Bogotá

If you are only spending one night in Bogotá and want to visit the historic center, one of the best options to stay is in La Candelaria. The cobbled streets of La Candelaria and its colorful colonial buildings make this area a very charming place. In general, this area is usually very safe.

In Candelaria there are also interesting museums such as the Gold Museum or the Botero Museum, as well as the most important government buildings in the capital. You can even get to Monserrate on foot!

In this area there are mainly hostels and small boutique hotels. You can stay from 10 euros per night.
