Very close to Bali, about half an hour away by speedboat, is the small island of Nusa Lembongan.
On this island, although tourism has already arrived here, it is not very massive tourism, which allows you to enjoy and disconnect for a few days. It is an ideal option to end a tour of Indonesia.
This island is linked to Nusa Ceningan by a bridge and belongs to the group of 3 Nusa Islands; Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
In this post I will tell you how to get to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, what to see and do on each of the islands, beaches, and where to stay.
HOW TO VISIT NUSA LEMBONGAN AND NUSA CENINGAN
By speedboat. You can get here from Bali, Lombok, Nusa Penida even from the gili islands.
I leave you the links to see prices and availability of the different routes. You can book, one way, round trip..
WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN NUSA LEMBONGAN, INDONESIA
With a scooter you can drive around the island in no time and explore the different beaches. You will find a paradise on this island, where the beaches are of white sand, in contrast with the green vegetation and an intense blue of the sea.
The beaches of Nusa Lembongan
There are many beaches on the island and all of them are beautiful, but there are some that I recommend you visit.
Mushroom Beach is ideal for relaxing, bathing and enjoying the sun during the day. At night you can have a drink in one of its clubs.
A somewhat hidden and beautiful little beach is Dream Beach. And the Secret Beach is a good option, if you get away from the crowds a bit.
Snorkeling and diving in Nusa Lembongan
The Nusa Lembongan area is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. Here you can see beautiful coral, as well as a wide variety of tropical fish. Next to the nearby island of Nusa Penida is Manta Point, where there is a very high probability of seeing giant manta rays. And there are organized tours to go there and enjoy this wonder.
These manta rays are between 4 and 9 meters long.
It is an activity that you can contract whether you are staying on this island, on the island of Nusa Penida or even from Bali. I recommend it to you!!
Enjoy surfing in Nusa Lembongan
Like almost every corner of Indonesia, in Nusa Lembongan you can also surf. Although the days that I was on the island we had no waves and the sea was completely calm, they told us that there are usually quite a few waves and that they are ideal for beginners, since they are somewhat calmer and with less hangover than in Bali or Nusa Penida For example. So I can't recommend it to you first hand and if you travel here and are lucky enough to have good waves, tell me about it :)
WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN NUSA CENINGAN, INDONESIA
You can visit this small island, attached to the Nusa Lembongan Island in half a day, it is dwarf and if you rent a scooter you will travel even faster.
The most striking thing is the suspension bridge in yellow that separates the two islands. There are not many things to see, you will find beaches, vegetation, good places to eat and here there are also some well-priced accommodations.
WHERE TO STAY IN NUSA LEMBONGAN
We were staying in a kind of little hotel, although it was advertised as a private house, we had our own room complete with a private bathroom inside and it opened onto a small pool. We were great and the best thing was the price, 11 euros/night room. double. Maybe in higher seasons it's more expensive, but I recommend you go and take a look at it, it's great!
