Excursion to Nymphenburg Palace

Nymphenburg Palace is one of the largest palace complexes in Europe. And it is the former summer residence of the Wittelsbachs, the Bavarian royal family.

The surroundings of the palace stand out for its large English-style garden and the canals. On the guided tour inside the Palace you will get to know its majestic noble rooms, the gallery of beauties, the Stone room, the central pavilion and the collection of carriages.

Dachau concentration camp

Visiting a former concentration camp is not usually one of my favorite activities. Even so, it is part of the history of Germany and is a recommended excursion to do from Munich. During the excursion you will get to know in depth the terrible history that the country lived through in the 20th century. In 1933, the first prisoners began to arrive at the Dachau concentration camp and during the 12 years that it was in operation, more than 200,000 prisoners passed through there, of whom more than 40,000 were murdered. It went from being a labor camp to one for prisoners, and later to a place of extermination.

Other interesting excursions to do in Munich

If you have time to add more excursions to your trip to Munich, you can visit the Harburg Castle, the city of Rothenburg, Regensburg, Nuremberg, Austrian cities, excursions to enjoy the nature of the area such as the Zugspitze mountain, among many more excursions.
